Each year she great dressed up, picks out his dressy clothes and they head to Sushi together. She rides in the front seat of his truck, they hold hands and her daddy even splurges and buys her a soda. She loves California Rolls so a gorgeous birthday girl gets what she loves.
Last night after the sushi had been consumed they headed to the candy isle of the closest store so she could indulge in a "Ring Pop". For anyone that knows anything about me, they would know that my kids don't get much garbage candy like that. So she came home flaunting her ring pop, much to my dismay. There was nothing I could say, it was her birthday date and her dad just shrugged his shoulders.
Something he knows, I know and she's starting to realize is that she has her dad wrapped around her little finger. He would do, buy or get her just about anything if he could. He has very little restraint. I usually have to be the voice of reason. That's why date night is an even bigger deal. Taylor gets her dad all to herself without moms voice of reason being taken into consideration.
Trav hopes that this tradition continues. He hopes to take his baby girl out each year for her birthday. Some things just can't be let go of. Some traditions just can not be neglected. This is one of them. Each year, she gets older and older. Each year their conversations will change, each year their relationship will grow and change but one thing that won't change is the day they were born and the love that a daddy has for his very special little girl!
