Dec. 20th...

20 December 2010

Today is Dec. 20th...For the past two years on the Cape it has snowed on Dec. 20th. This is a well known fact in our humble little house and each year we hope and beg for snow from the weather powers that be and once again they delivered. So we woke up today on Dec. 20th to a winter wonderland. It was gorgeous this morning and our house was filled with excitement. Especially from the 8 year old in our house who was outside this morning in the snow wearing nothing but his undies. Most of you know he is not normal and loves snow so this leads to these kinds of things. It officially feels like Christmas!!

So today Trav and I sent the kids off to school and set off to enjoy the snow and go for a hike. Cold and blowing snow really doesn't bother us. We love the cold and enjoy bundling up and heading out. Plus, it allows us the right to find a place to enjoy a cup of coffee and thaw out when we are done.

We came home shoveled our endless driveway and then decided to pick up the kids from school. They do not plow residential street out here for us so as I suspected the school bus never actually made it up our street.

~Travi changed into is waterproof Camo to play in the yard and we eventually got him to come inside for dinner and to thaw out.

Taylor and I also started our baking tonight. We plan to give baked goods to two of our neighbors along with both of the kids teachers and school bus driver. We will also take cookies into the duty section that will be at work on Christmas Day at the Airstation. So we started with a McGregor Boy's favorite and made Crinkles. Tomorrow we will make Egg Free Sugar Cookies and Reeses Peanut Butter Cookies. We also have to make treats for both of the kids class parties this week. We will be busy!!

So I think we are finally feeling ready and prepared. Our stockings our hung....

My baby girl has provided us with a bounty of beautiful holiday themed art...

The house feels ready, we feel prepared, the kids are definitely ready and I am anxious for Christmas morning. Santa has some exciting things planned for the kids and I can't wait to see their faces. So with the snow, the baking, holiday routine and the decorations Christmas can come. We can not wait!!
