Well, we headed of Cape on Friday afternoon. Our destination, a mere 4 miles off Cape to the home of Plymouth Rock. We found a nice campground that had a small lake and settled in for a quiet weekend in the woods. After we were set up on Friday night, we hurried through dinner and a quick little fire because the thunder clouds were letting us know that they were about to unleash a storm. So we moved inside and relaxed until bed time. There is nothing like laying in your camper in the peace and quiet listening to the rain pound outside.
Saturday we woke up, cooked a great breakfast and headed down to the lake with the canoe. We paddled around this small little lake seeing tons of lily pads and water lilies trying to bloom. It was gorgeous and sunny and we all spit sunflower seeds as we hugged the shoreline and gawked at the gorgeous lakeside homes.

After we finised at the lake we headed to Ellisville State Park and hiked down to a "Dog Friendly" beach that was gorgeous. Just so you all know, dog friendly beaches are few and far between around here. We were excited to take the dogs. So the kids played in the sand, the dogs dug holes and trenches, we had lunch and enjoyed watching the fog roll in and out.

Last night we just enjoyed the peace and quiet of our campsite, cooked dinner and roasted marshmellows. Taylor also made a new friend who she named Harry...or maybe it was Hairy! Can you see him in the picture?
