I'm a Coast Guard spouse, mother, runner, hobby photographer, beer drinker, wine sipper, wanderer, lover of the outdoors who documents this life one photo, one billet at a time.
So as one of the last classroom events of the school year the 1st Graders from Forestdale Elem. got to head down to Town Neck Beach and do some tide pooling at low tide. Travis and his mom, Nana Joanie were able to go as chaperones and were paired with 4 very eager boys. Travi of course was completely in his element and was actually a little disappointed that he was not allowed to eat any of the creatures. In Kodiak, during survival school Trav learned what was safe to eat, so he and Travi would eat certain things they found in the tide pool. Anyways, Travi being the poster child from Alaska was actually quite educated about tide pools and was a wonderful resource for his teacher Mrs. Wood to help teach the kids about the wildlife in the ocean. I swear that kid is one of a kind and completely unique. I think that is my favorite thing about him. He is an old soul for sure!
