I started really, truly taking pictures of our life in about 2007. I have always "taken" pictures, but that year is when I started really thinking about the pictures I was taking, the moment I was capturing and the story I was trying to tell. Over the years I have taken some pictures that I feel like really show who I am, who I strive to be and who I'm proud to be. They are little windows into my soul. I'm not talking about the candid, silly, adorable pictures I have snapped of my kids, my husband, our vacations or a landscape. I love all of those pictures. I am talking about the pictures that when I reflect on them, I feel like they represent the best parts of me. They show what truly makes me...me! Windows to my soul.
Here are a few....
This pictures was taken July 2013 at the summit of a peak here in Sitka. I am a true lover of nature and he is the one person on this earth who I feel like I can share it with.
Taken July 4, 2011 overlooking Nantucket Sound on Cape Cod.
Taken October 2010 on a small wooden grand stand overlooking Shawme Pond.
Taken in the winter of 2010. I came downstairs early in the morning and found him sitting alone, in total silence staring out the window watching the snowfall. He turned to me and whispered,
"It's so beautiful!"
Taken in 2009 at a small cafe called the Gulu-Gulu in Salem, Massachusetts.
One of my favorite photos I have ever taken.
Taken on Sandy Beach here in Sitka, 2012. I stood and watched him for several minutes trying to burn this image into my mind.
Schroon River, New York in 2011. He and I canoed this river for over 6 hours. What an day!
She laid next to me on a grassy knoll in Bar Harbor, Maine in 2010
Summer of 2013...Marathon training.
I love my little windows......
