The kids started school this past week. Travis headed into 6th grade at Blatchley Middle School and Taylor is going into 3rd grade at Keet Gooshi Heen. All week I kept asking myself, "how its possible that I have kids this age??".
Taylor and I walked to school together, she was nervous and I was reassuring. Once she saw her friends on the playground I got a brief hug, a kiss and she was on her way. Luckily after running ahead maybe 40 feet, she turned around, ran back and gave me one more big hug.
I drove Travi to school shortly there after, gave him my motherly pep talk about life on the way and hugged him while in the confines of the car as to ensure I didn't embarrass him in front of anyone. Just like that he was on his way to middle school. He gave me one last quick wave goodbye and I was a mess. I cried the whole way home.
I know it sounds so cliche but sometimes life goes by in the blink of an eye. I literally just had babies. Now I'm discussing acne prevention, deodorant use and having my son tell me "who's hot and who's not".
I am trying to master our new schedule and get it perfected. Between swimming at 6am, two different schools, my work and other activities its been a bit hectic. I'm looking forward to settling into a good routine.
To all you mommas of little babies, enjoy it! Before you know it you will be wondering where the years have gone.
