Silver Bay Halibut

12 August 2012

We took the boat out last weekend to Silver Bay to enjoy some halibut fishing.  To this point the kids and I had not yet pulled any fish onto the boat.  Travi and I were itching to catch something and Taylor just wanted to club something with our mini Red Sox bat we named "Papi"!  In preparation for the day Taylor took the time to give the boat an extra cleaning which included a few spritz of her favorite   body spray.  Let me just say it smelled like a tropical sanctuary when we set sail!!

I would like to quickly draw your attention to Taylor's keen fashion sense when cleaning the boat.  Not only is it wearing a gorgeous dress but what you can't see our her fashionista boots.

We enjoyed the day out on the water.  It was nice to "get out of town"!  Silver Bay is a short 10 minute ride from the harbor.  On any given day we can enjoy bald eagles, whales and seals out there.  We ended up catching our limit of 8 on this day.  Travi loved it!  He yelled and screaming pretty much the entire time he would be reeling in a fish.  Trav pulled in the biggest halibut of the day weighing roughly 40 pounds.  We returned to the harbor to finish the day cleaning the boat and the fish.  We scored roughly 11 packaged meals out of all the fish.  It was a great, gorgeous day!
