Vacation....

I'm a bit behind on my blogging. Somehow after vacation and after mom and dad flew back home I never jumped on here to post about our vacation to the Adirondacks.


Vacation...What is your definition? For Travis and I its about relaxing, being outside and unplugging our lives from the mundane repeat button that life somehow presses for us. We vacationed in the Adirondack Mts. back in 2009. We love it! Last winter when we began to contemplate our last vacation up in the North East we asked the kids where they wanted to go. They both chose the Schroon River.

This time would be slightly different for two reasons. Reason #1 for the fact that my parents would be with us. Reason #2 was that since my parents were with us Travis and I would be able to do somethings just by ourselves. We had kids sitters!!



Our campsite sits on the Schroon River which feeds into Lake George. We love listening to the sound of the river. We love waking up, drinking our coffee while we stare at the moving river. Its so calming. We love that the kids can walk down to the riverbanks and throw rocks.




When we weren't sitting next to the river we visited Lake George Village, hiked to the top of Pharaoh Mtn., took a 5 hour canoe ride, spent a full day with family friends and swam at the pool pretty much everyday. It was great having mom and dad with us for the added company and the kids loved camping at Gammie and Poka's trailer.












We will remember the Adirondack Mtns for years to come. Its been a great summer, but now I am ready for Fall!!
