Halloween!!!

31 October 2010

Tonight was Halloween and I am relieved its over. I hate to be such a stick in the mud, but Halloween is really not my favorite holiday. I really can't get into the creepy, disgusting decorations and all the masks and candy. I do however love how excited the kids get to dress up and be out with their little friends in the dark. Friday night the kids school hosted a Spooktacular. We played games, did crafts, drank witches brew and ran wild with their friends. They had a blast! Then tonight we trick-or-treated in our neighborhood first and then moved on to another neighborhood a few streets over so that the kids could meet up with some school friends and make an all out mad dash for candy.

They had a great time and have enough candy to make Trav and I fat and them wired with sugar. As usual, I anticipate the candy bingeing will subside after a few days and I can start pawning the candy off on Trav's coworkers or we can hopefully donate some to be sent overseas to the troops.

We had a "Black Kitty" and a "Dead Ghoul" this year at the McGregor house. Taylor took her kitty cat character extremely serious and Travi loved looking dead and creepy. Did I mention I am not into dead and creepy? I foresee future battles of what he will be for Halloween. All in all it was fun and now, we can move on to my favorite time of year....Thanksgiving and Christmas!

~The kids tonight before we left to Trick or Treat....Taylor was really getting into her Kitty character!

~Travis visited the Fortune Teller at the Spooktacular and was informed I would steal from his candy bucket after he went to bed.

~He looks drunk off sugar and candy corn in this picture!

We carved a scary Werewolf and a Puppy Dog for our pumpkins.

~This last picture marks a milestone as well...We made it to Halloween before we turned the heat on. The kids have enjoyed the gas fireplace all weekend!
