Fish

16 September 2010

So after two years of living on the Cape, Trav has finally proven to me that fish can be caught here. He has been going out with a friend once a week late at night to catch Sea Bass. They haven't caught a thing until last night. Apparently you have to fish in the pitch black at midnight to catch a fish out here. Sea Bass is supposed to be really great fish. Since we are out of halibut and starved for a good white fish I am really looking forward to dinner tonight. To keep a Stripped Sea Bass they have to be a minimum of 28 inches long and this one definitely was. So thanks to my honey for his persistance in trying to catch a fish out here so that we might enjoy a little bounty from the sea. It definitely puts into perspective how much easier fishing is Alaska can be. It was nothing to head down to the river after dinner and catch your limit in an hour. We almost forgot how to even fillet the darn thing its been so long.

I'm off to research recipes for dinner!!
