Officially a Wolf!

This past weekend was the Blue & Gold Banquet for our Scouting Pack. This banquet is the celebration of scouting and of the boys as they progress through the ranks of cub scouting. Our pack rents a hall, provides dinner and presents awards, patches and trophies earned by boys throughout the year. This year was also the 100th birthday of Scouting too! Each den is required to make a centerpiece for our table as well. Travis and I worked for several weeks on our piece and we were quite happy with how it turned out. We didn't win the centerpiece award but I thought we should have. Our cake was a 3 tiered one with pictures of each of the boys in our den along with a Centennial path and wolf emblem.


At the banquet Travis had a great time. He loves all the boys in his den, as they are all 2nd graders at his school. The boys get along so well and act like complete fools but have such a good time. This year Travi won an award for his Pine Wood Derby car. He was called up on stage and awarded a trophy for it. He was super stoked about that.



So as of this past weekend Travi is now an official Wolf. He earned his patch by completing all the requirments and was it was presented to him and all the other boys by our Cubmaster. The den also had to preform a skit so this year our boys did a scouting themed rendition of an American Idol song called "Pants on the Ground"! It was pretty funny.



We do have a few more months of scouting left this year. The Chuckwagon Campout will be in May and that is the final event of the year. Travis will be working towards earning his Bear badge next year, but for now he is a very proud wolf!!
