Birds Eye View of the Oil Spill

So...for anyone that doesn't know, Trav was deployed to Mobile, AL for the "Deepwater Horizon Deployment"! What that means is he spent almost a month down there flying VIP's here, there and everywhere. The temperatures where "Africa Hot" 113 degrees plus humidity and the days were long. They flew missions everyday and in the end where the first of many crews to be spending months down there helping deal with this enviromental disaster.

We have heard that for the most part there is a media "Blackout" about alot of what is going on down there. People are not allowed to be in those waters unless otherwise authorized, so these pictures are pretty special. Most of what you see in the news in the horrific pictures of the beaches and the animals. They are disgusting and heart wrenching to look at. These are what Trav called a "birds eye view" of the oil spill. The expanse of this disaster is more then I am sure most can comprehend. It is major and disrupting so many peoples lives. The USCG will be down for the the long haul. Right now there doesn't seem to be an end in sight considering BP hasn't capped the well head. Thad Allen has said the oil could continue to leak into the fall. If that's the case amy Coasties will not be with their family for many many months to come.
